Summit CountyAkronArrestsTwo men were charged with the July 13 rape of a 14-year-old girl. A Beardsley Street man, 28, and a Noah Avenue man, 18, were booked into the Summit County Jail on Aug. 23. The 28-year-old man, accompanied by an attorney, turned himself in to detectives. Akron police and members of the U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force reported finding the 18-year-old locked inside a meat chest at his mother’s house. Officers cut a lock off to arrest him. The man’s sister, 20, was charged with obstructing official business.A Lake Street man, 34, was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and felonious assault in three incidents. He allegedly forced his way into a home Aug. 4 in the 1600 block of Wiltshire Road, fired a gun and took a purse from a table. On Aug. 11, he allegedly robbed someone at gunpoint in Silver Lake and took a wallet and laptop computer before escaping in a stolen vehicle. On Aug. 14, he allegedly broke into a home in the 500 block of East Buchtel Avenue and took a computer bag and two laptop computers. When a resident came home, the suspect allegedly fired a shot while running away.A Copley Road woman, 33, was charged with burglary of a home in the 800 block of Edge Street.A Forest Cove Drive man, 32, faces charges of auto theft, burglary, breaking and entering and receiving stolen property. He allegedly went on a crime spree that included stealing two vehicles, driving a third vehicle that had been reported stolen in Brimfield, and breaking into several businesses.A Julien Court man, 18, was charged with robbery and receiving stolen property after he allegedly was found in a stolen vehicle. He is accused of stealing a woman’s cell phone, car keys and purse. Four other men were involved in the robbery.A South Main Street man, 46, was charged with robbery and disorderly conduct by reason of intoxication after he allegedly was seen putting a 24-ounce bottle of beer down his pants. He is accused of shoving and threatening a store clerk who confronted him.A West Exchange Street man, 29, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly attacked someone at the Matinee Bar.A Crosby Street man, 25, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with evidence, having an illegal weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle. Police said the man drew a gun from his waistband after he was pulled over in a traffic stop.An Edison Avenue man, 18, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business. Police said the man matched the description of a person reported waving a gun. When officers confronted him in the 200 block of Cole Avenue, he allegedly ran into an apartment and hid a loaded 8-mm gun under a mattress.An Alphada Avenue man, 18, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing an illegal deadly ordnance and tampering with evidence. Police said the man was a passenger in a car chase on South Arlington Street. Police said he ran from the car and threw the magazine from a semiautomatic rifle that was found in the vehicle.BarbertonArrestsA Barberton man, 52, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 25 after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during a quarrel over a call he received from another woman.An Akron man, 27, was charged with aggravated burglary and domestic violence Aug. 25 after his ex-girlfriend, 25, told police that he pushed his way into her Sixth Street Northwest home and assaulted her.A man, 19, was charged Aug. 24 with obstructing official business and fraudulent misrepresentation after he allegedly gave police a false name.Arrest warrants were issued for a man who allegedly tried to cash a forged check Aug. 21 at Tobacco Town, 143 Wooster Road N.
